Projects

The Wyckoff Parks and Recreation Foundation is looking at several locations for the initial wave of projects including:

Memorial ComplexDONE! – In the center of Wyckoff, the Memorial Field complex adjacent to the Wyckoff Library will be updated and enhanced, and integrated with the renovated Library, to provide a true community recreation center.  A modern low maintenance and environmentally responsible all-season field, together with restrooms and spectator seating, will provide the field capacity and all-season access the town’s recreation programs now require.  Integrated naturally into the design, a gazebo, reflecting pool, and outdoor seating area overlooking the park provide an outdoor gathering place for individuals of all ages.  The plan: A town recreation center truly befitting of this beautiful community.

Pulis FieldDONE! – Nestled behind the Wyckoff YMCA, the Pulis Field Complex is a hub of athletic activity in Wyckoff.  Unfortunately, with the lack if evening access and all-season fields, there simply isn’t enough Pulis to go around.  The result? In some cases, the township can’t offer recreation programs to sports and children who want to participate.  In others, practice time simply isn’t available for the existing programs.  The Wyckoff Parks and Recreation Foundation is working to implement a solution.  All-season fields, together with a walking path and park-like setting, are featured in a re-designed Pulis recreation complex.

Larkin House – Deeded to the township in 1999, the Larkin House has transitioned from private residence into a meeting place for the Wyckoff Senior Citizens Club and other adult groups.  While surrounded by a beautiful, tranquil landscape, the Larkin House is nonetheless primarily used as an indoor meeting facility.  The Wyckoff Parks and Recreation Foundation has pledged its support to provide outside meeting space and recreation opportunities to the Larkin House to further enhance the use and utility of this beautiful setting.

The intent is to raise the necessary funds to support the enhancements for the completion of the first wave of projects within the next year or two.  Cost estimates are underway, but preliminary figures indicate a need to raise funds or donated materials/services of approximately $3 million.
